Default RPM Sticking

I have noticed 3 times now in the past month when I'm driving the car home from work the revs seem to take ages to go down, what I mean is I can be driving along in 3rd on boost then change to 4th while watching the RPM and listening to the engine I can tell its not right

I thought it was my driving at first then the second time I was suspicious the third time I knew someting was wrong................ I had my foot under the accelerator pedal pulling it up but nothing!!

Only does it when cold, I have a MY98 if that helps

Any ideas??

We sorted it today. It was the dust seal from the end of the thottle cable that had become detatched and slid round the linkage so it was keeping the thottle slightly open

Just shows it can sometimes be the simpliest things
