CAI for Hawkeye STi. K&N Apollo, Typhoon or something else?
My mapper has recommended a cold air intake before we map next, not sure which kit to buy though.
Hawkeye 2.5 STi.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

K & N typhoon seems like your best bet as you can see from this graph on a 2.0L wrx from k & N http://www.knfilters.com/dynocharts/69-8001_dyno.pdf. I'm sure after the map you will see significant numbers. I just picked one up for my sti I just have to get it mapped now.

There's also the APS short length wing mount CAI - but the filter is a bit small.
Choice seems to be between 65mm and 70mm diameter intakes and modded 2.5 STi's I've seen are able to make use of the 70mm intake.
Not sure which CAIs are 70mm AND have a decent flowing air filter other than the Hyperflow.

If you wanna future proof yourself against big power later on - and if you have the space - go for the biggest K&N with a 160mm dia. opening and mate it to an ally or carbon trumpet.
RCM do a couple: a 160mm tall job which flows 647CFM; and a 210mm tall one for 700CFM:-

And should under-bonnet temps be an issue, fashion a closed-off ally shroud around the cone with a suitable cold-air feed ducted into it...
