Have you had the heads off, or put a scope in to check for interference-related damage?

Could be any number of causes but that'd probably be the first to rule out.

If you want more help would also be useful to know what exactly is happening. Does it fire, at all, for example?

With 8 teeth missing off the belt, it's a possibility you have suffered valve to valve contact on one of the heads and bent a few valves.
A compression test would narrow it down a bit.

Or it might be something quite simple like a crank sensor fault.

right done a comp test the results were a bit higher than u expect cause i had to do it cold ,as the car dont run lol

no.1 180psi
no.2 180psi
no.3 180psi
no.4 170psi

but found some other probs pulled the fuel pipe off and was covered in water pumped some in to a bowl and had a 50/50 mix of water and petrol so that was causing one non start prob and also found that number one coil wasnt sparking so swapped it onto number 3 wiring and it worked so need to find out were the wiring is f@cked on number 1 coil wiring,so hopefully engine is ok just some minor probs

Compressions are good for a Hydraulic headed WRX, so hopefully the other problems you
have found and cured will get it running.
