Default What is the Lightest (easiest) clutch for 500lb/ft

As above,
My 06 forester sti, has a forged engine and an Md321t+
I was running an Exedy organic, but after 6 months, it is very badly worn and I haven't been driving all that hard! it's just not holding up well,
So I need to upgrade,
It's my wifes daily driver and she never liked the orgenic, as it was to heavy and juddery with the light weight fly wheel, (which has to go also)
So I would very much appreciate your opinions on which clutch would be the easiest to use but still able to cope with 500lb/ft
Thanks
Dan

I would say an Exedy Twin, my Mrs drives an Evo with one now and again and says she has no problems with it

Jaysus,
How many people on here have twin plate clutches,
Or are running 321t+'s, that must have clutches that cope,
And I get ONE reply, about an EVO
The search function on this site doesn't help with my question,
I am unpleasantly surprised that no one has offered advice regard their clutches on their scoobies!!
Still searching, Anyone add anything??
Thanks
Dn

Give AP Racing a ring a Coventry, they can build a clutch assy to suit, i have used thier's on GRPA Impreza's , but you are making life difficult for a road use car with the light flywheel, in my experience a lot of rally cars with the light flywheel does cause problems with driveability & accelerated clutch wear due to flywheel distorsion.
As a thought if you went back to the original weight flywheel your make of clutch may be ok.

Have a look at the new Helix twin plate, should handle that torque fairly easily but is feather light.

I have a OS giken twin plate and the pedal action is lighter than a standard clutch but can occasionally be little juddery in traffic, however give it a few extra revs to set off and its fine. I have tried a cusco and exedy twin plate and I prefer the OS over both of them.

Scoobyclinic sell Carbonetics multiplate carbon clutches. Expensive, good for huge torque/power, and very driveable.

wow a forged 2.5ltr and 321t+ in a forester, that must be a cracking car to drive?

did you own an impreza first or jump stright in a forester, can you compare the two?

Thanks for the clutch recomendations lads!
I spoke to a chap with a carbonetics twin plate on a type r 5speed and he says that it slips when cold and it gets juddery when hot and then stuck in traffic
Are the 6 speeds any different? and can you tell me if the pedal is heavier than standard??
I do appreciate your input!

Howdy Mikey30, Are you in ISDC??

@ Stevie1982, She's good crack alright, I never had an impreza, I always had big dogs and lived on the side of a mountain, so I got a 98 jap forester turbo in 2003, then while searching for suspension upgrades I stumbled across a 2001 forester sti and bought that in 2004, then later that year subaru released the 2.5 6speed sti in japland and I was enfactuated, (no other scoobies had 2.5T then) So saved for years till 2007 and bought an 2006 (facelifted) 2000mile ExDemo straight from jap showroom, and I haven't stopped spending money on her since!
Porsche GT3 RS front 6 pots (355 AP discs), Boxter S rear 4 pots, Whiteline springs, rear ARB and camber adjustment for track or road! and Full 3" miltek silenced but de-catted system, 80mm K&N to 3"APS turbo inlet pipe to 321t+ with 3" inlet to STI8 topmount (AFP style) with water spray, to forged 2.5 with 8.9:1 CR (a bit to high) for quick responsive spool up and low/mid torque with Fancy valves and springs and all the head stuff bolted down with 14mm WRC head studs, Not rolling roaded yet on this spec! but we'll see,
I used to just have the standard 2.5 with an AFP TD05-20g running 386bhp but last years Scooby shoot out in elvington left me wanting more power! so I took the plung over xmass just before the resession swallowed all my money!
