Default One for the mappers

Had the motor on the rollers on tues, I made 271bhp but that was with an inlet temp of 70C.

lack of fan cooling on the R/R was the main problem, what sort of power would i loose at that temp, as normally its around 40C tops.

Any ideas?

sounds like the dyno air intake temp sensor probably compensated for the high temp as that is probably about right

would a front mount make such as massive difference because a friend made 305 with just a front mount different?

Granted he was told its running on a knife edge but i'm finding it hard to reason

Cheers BTW

A Front mount still needs airflow, and if the RR fans aren't working properly, it can't get it, as the car is stationary. The only advantage of a front mount in that scenario is that it isn't on top of a baking hot engine!

An FMIC would be a big improvement over the intercooler from a car of that year. The car would need to be mapped though.

I wouldn't be running my car on a RR with fans that didn't work properly, that's for sure.

WHAT!!! I would never even allow the car to be run if there was no cooling fan!

Sounds to me like some dodgy rolling road place, maybe you shoud name then, so i know never to go there!

Of course there was a fan, albeit not strictly scooby specific to a top mount.

Was the 70 deg C measured by the RR operator?
Nice to see he had your engines' health in mind, while giving it WOT with those temps.

My std STI suffered badly in hot weather, on a run South from the North Yorkshire Forests I could feel mine losing power as the intake temps rose ever higher. So first mod was a BIG FMIC and then an exhaust, and a re-map.
