Does your speedo still work? What year classic is it as earlier ones were on a mechanical drive and if yours has the km/mph convertor that could of failed. The later classics have an electric fed sensor.
have reset the ecu 4 times drives okay for about 30 mile and then switches to limp mode i do about 10 of that 30 on the m25 if that helps
had the clocks out last nite and the cable is in as far as it gose shal check the rest 2moro anyother ideas thanks
still having the same problem have had the speedo cable out and check its all working refited it same as the dash clocks had them out 2day took them apart to find out the unit was loose so tightend it all up reset the fault code and anoth 5 miles l8a the light cumes back up and giving me the fault code 33 speed sensor again any1 got any ideas as this is reli annoying thanks
p.s even tried it without the speedo cable connected to the clocks took a lil while long but the light still came on

There is a 'sensor' of sorts (on a import), it's detecting the rotations from the speedo cable (& stops people 'easily' removing the 112mph limit) & sends a pulse to the ecu ...iirc it sits within the speedo just above the milometer ...you'd have to remove the clock & then it's face to see it ...& looks like two very fine contacts. Id hazard a guess that it's this that's failed/failing & it's new clocks time.
Oh & as a 'temporary' fix (because the limp mode can be bloody annoying!) you can run in diagnotic mode ...although i wouldn't advise doing this for long
