Default oil cooler/cosworth baffle plate/12mm pump

on my new build i dont want to risk any part of my engine not getting oil - obviously

firstly i want a good 12mm oil pump to keep it all flowing
second a cooler to keep the oil temps ok and for added oil capacity
third i want a cosworth baffle plate to keep oil in the sump when cornering

will this suffice on a fairly big power build to keep everything lubed up - or would you add a cosworth sump for an extra 1.9l of oil capacity too?

Cant beat extra capacity IMO.

My sump was a 7l /7.5l with the oil cooler on, and i never once had surge issues once i got the catch can setup right.

One of the big things on track, is the oil sticking in the heads whilst cornering hard, this results in it blowing up through the breathers. You then need a decent, high capacity catch can to collect the oil and return it to the sump.

Before i had put a catch can that returned to the sump on my 2.35 build in 2006, i dumped a litre + oil on launching off the line at Santapod, every time i launched!

Dry sump is ultimately the best setup, and what will happen to my next build, just waiting on Zen to finalise their system.

It really depends what you ARE going to do with it. There are track days, and then there is the likes of Time Attack or the LMA, leagues apart IMO.

I would also like to know about an oil pump... im using it on a track car, and dont even know if/when the oil pump has been changed, so i would rather upgrade it seeing as i will have it out.

I used an RCMS catch can, the round one, with the bottom fitting replaced with a -10 fitting, this returned to the sump via a one way flapper valve.

There are instances where larger sumps interfere with headers, i think the ARC sump is one of the worst, it is also one of the worst baffled sumps out there.
