well the first problem is the pipping and clips.... Decent piping and Mikalor (sp?) clips will set you back over £100 so you might as well purchase the one from JapSpeed Group buy on here that will DEFO fit your car

Yeah, it will be a really crap fit, and you'd probably end up buying a 'proper' one by the end of it.

Well its not that cheap, as the radiator is pretty cheap... its the pipe work that costs the most

As already said, in most cases it`s not the core that`s the problem, it`s the fitment of all the pipes and the clips supplied would be standard jubilee clips.

I`ve got an Autobahn setup and the garage said the pipework fitment was crap.

Best thing to do is buy the core and get someone to fabricate the pipwork.

Every component of a decent kit (eg Hybrid, HKS, APS etc) is better than ebay junk. Core, clamps, pipework...

Hybrid is probably the best value for money you can get.

I bought an ebay cheapo one and had no problems at all fitting it to my v5 type r.

If you do buy a cheap one make sure it's the polished alloy piping one and not the chromed one (as the chrome comes off)

Only thing I did was buy some 'normal' decent jubilee clips as the ebay clamps are rubbish and will come off.

Strange you should mention that, I bought a cheap at the time(cheaper now) Autobahn 88 FMIC from ebay, and I've never blown an intercooler pipe off fitted with one of the supplied jubilee clips.

The ones that came with mine actually looked quite good, thick and sturdy with bolt tightening. When I fitted them though they sort of only gripped in one place, like they were pinching at the bolt part. Also they were too wide and didn't really dig down into the silicone hose, I found a good quality jubilee clip sunk in and gripped tighter.

Forget the cheap kits from Ebay and the Autobahn kits. I had very bad results with my Autobahn core and no specialist rates them.

I`ve been told to go for either the Hybrid core or Hyperflow.

I have a Hyperflow to go on.

I would've actually got a brand new Hybrid of harvey... but saw a 2nd hand Hyperflow that I coudn't resist (basically got it for a fair bit less than half price of what it is brand new ).

Can't go wrong with either kit... but the Hybrid is a no-brainer regarding price, performance and all but perfect fitment.

Also, if you arrange to get it fitted at harvey's joint in Darlington, you'll only have to pay a fixed price of £180! for the fitting labour (but not including a IK, DV relocation, any extra fitting sundries, etc... and the FMIC kit itself, obviously!)...

Do it! lol
