Sounds like clutch slip, it could be moisture has been absorbed into the (organic not metallic) plate and you just need to give it time to warm up and evaporate, or some dust/muck may be in there that needs to work its way out, give it a couple of hundred miles and see....

Because its been stood there for a while could be possible like the rookie said built up moisture and there could be a layer built up on clutch or pressure plate. Keep driving it probably just needs embedding in. Give it abit of time. Because its been sitting there for a while i would recommend giving it a full service especially changing the oil. Check all your levels aswell and the condition of your gearbox oil aswell.
