Default Someone please help sick of garages with no clue!! need one of u with the know!

Hi I am still having problems starting my car when cold its a 97 wrx import ver 3. it will always start in the afternoon fine although not perfectly.. basically in the morning it seems to go to start then stall and after that the only way to fire her up is to put my foot on the throttle then turn it over,

Anyway i took it to a garage who said they turned it over and it sarted first time and there was no issue on any of the plug in read outs i said it must have been cos it was a warm morning he then replied i could tweak i t all day it would nt make any difference as there is nothing wrong.

Could some 1 who knows their stuff help me out here.. if it was a sensor would that not show up when the garage plugged into the computer?

cheers guys
Lee

crank sensor
coolant temp sensor

Are ,imo, the 2 likeliest candidates for poor starting.

I had a similar situation to you with my coolant temp sensor did not register on the Select Monitor but when changed problem was solved.

as above the coolant temp sensor is often the cause for cold start problems

Easy enough to fit just a wee bit fiddly, cost around £27 from dealers IIRC
