Probably a header exhaust leak, dump valve leak, intercooler leak or the turbo is damaged.
Deffo not right
Should be 3000rpm

If there are no leaks found, what headers and uppipe are you running?

This is my old car - it has the standard sti up-pipe and headers as far as i know.

I never noticed any problem as to when boost kicked in and during time ive owned it - apart from when it had remap from jgm (which you would expect) - it hasnt changed at all. Im sure though that the turbo spooled before 4k for me (more 3-3500rpm) and 4k would be when the turbo really put you back in seat. Unless im understanding it wrong and it shouldnt be like that?

Simon - you didnt notice anything like this when mapping car did you? surely this would have shown up during mapping if any leaks etc?
