sqeaking noise coming from wheel
hi
my impreza makes a high pitched squeaking noise, that comes from front wheel.is NOT a continuous sqeak.. it does it at speeds between 5mph -20mph anywhere in between, when over that speed noise goes, an dont allways make noise.
i have all good brake pads lots left on them. cv joints look fine..
think i could be suspension bushes.
Anyone help ??
dont have idea i could be exact

I believe i have the same problem as u mate. Ive took my wheel off and had a good look. Its also a squeaking sound makes the noise when driving straight but gets louder when turning towards left but when turning right does get less. Its getting really annoying. Ive looked everywhere but confused as to what it can be. Would be glad to know what it could be? I changed my drop links today as they looked abit perished but i knew it wouldnt be them. A mate suggested to me that it could be the track rod end. Its worth a shot i guess. Anyone else had this problem before? How did u cure it?
Many Thanks

Where did u put the copper grease? I only changed my brake pads last week and it was making the noise prior to that aswell. Even when i put new pads in i copper greased it well. Its not when braking.

It stops squeaking after about 30mph. It sounds like rubber squeaking even i thought about wheel bearing but surely a wheel bearing would sound more metal to metal if u know what i mean and not squeak like rubber. But im not sure yet again. CV boot looks in tact aswell. No grease leaking out. Its a really confusing one.

a way of checking is jack the car off the ground and slowly spin the wheel, and try to move wheel up and own either by hand or crowbar, i'm preety sure there are other ways too

When my drive shaft nut came loose it made a rubber squeaking noise. Luckily I fixed it in time before the wheel bearing died but the wheel bearing can make squeaking noises...

Are the brake pads low..?
OE pads have a wear indicator (piece of metal on side of pad that touches disc) that make a screechy/squeaky noise that gradually increases as the pads get near their wear limit..? Just a though..

while the car is jacked up check the wheel bearing by holding the top and bottom of the wheel and pull at the top of wheel and then bottom to check for play , also spin wheel by hand and see if you can still hear the noise. check the backing plate is not touching the discs and that none of your plastics have come loose that could touch your wheel. while wheel is off check all rubber bushes.then do brakes.
