I have not long bought a 2.0 impreza wagon 1998, i dont know much about scoobies but my mate offered it me cheap.

Everything was fine until yesterday when i went out in the car went to overtake and there is no pic up after 4k anymore it really struggles and wont really go past 5k. this only happens under load. and there is no engine management light on.

my mate said the lamba sensor has been changed recently and had new plugs and fuel filter and injectors clean about 4,000 miles ago.

a few things i thought it may be

coil packs
lamba sensor (though changed not long ago)
cat breaking down ( suggested by one of the guys i know never heard of this happening but this guy knows his stuff)

can anyone help narrow this down?
or any advice?

Try reading your fault codes i had 2 but never got a cel jolly green monster has a guide and list of codes on his site try a reset by disconnecting the battery for an hour if you get no fault codes hth jon

is this a turbo or NA scooby? Maybe in limp mode.

its a non turbo have tried disconnecting the battery and still got nothing doesnt seem like its in limp mode as it still accelrates but as if its being held back by something, like its being starved of fuel under load.

was the gapping on the plugs done correctly. i would check that out and look recheck the state of the plugs just to be on the safe side.
