Question Knock Sensor Position?

Am I correct that it sits under the IC?

If so, is it a pain in the rear end to take the IC off .... I have read that it is a bit awkward?

Where does the wire travel? I'm thinking the error code may just be a faulty connector?

It's slightly in front of the IC, more or less level (and to the left of) the throttle body. If you have an MY99 or 00 there is a short (3" or so) adapter cable which then connects into the main wiring loom next to the idle speed control valve and throttle position sensor - so two connectors to check.

With a slim socket extension you can get the sensor out without removing the IC, but if you want to poke around there it's best to take it off - which should be an easy job.
