Well oil in the header tank has to come from somewhere, normally either contaminated coolant that has been put in or an issue with the head gasket. Is the car overheating? But no doubt the garage will check for head gasket failure anyway

the car is still running really well and not over heating, could it be the seals in the turbo? if it is the head gasket would there be water loss too??

thanks

My bets are on the head gasket mate. Very simple head gasket test the garage can do with a pump like thing that goes on the header tank. It draws up air and water out the system and if there is any carbon monoxide in there the die in it changes colour. If this happens then the head gasket has gone..
I would get a non-subaru garage to check it as well just to make sure you get a correct reading before your warrenty runs out if you follow me...

No. The water circuit through the turbo is physically contained within the cartridge. There is no way a seal failure either at the compressor or turbine end could end up with oil in the coolant.

Not always, depends where and how the gasket has failed.
