Bypassing PAS pump - source for shorter belt?
I have had a replacement power steering pump start to fail 4 days after installing it, with the same problem as the last one (screeching). I won't go into too many details, but I want to bypass it and drive the alternator on its own until I find out exactly what's happening.
Does anybody know where (or indeed if) I can buy a shorter belt that will just drive the alternator, bypassing the PAS pump?

Thanks for the advice, I measured it and got a 710mm circumference belt which did the job, from the local Eurocarparts. My measuring wasn't great though, there was only about 10mm left on the adjuster bolt when teh belt was tight! A 700mm belt would have been a more accurate measurement, but the 710mm works fine.
Bit of a novelty driving without PAS, especially round the tight bends!
