Default Front screen moulding removal.

Does anyone know how to remove the rubber moulding that runs up the side of front screen over the roof & down the side of the rear screen? Is it on clips or do you have to take the headling out to get to fixing screws?
Also how does the weather strip that goes across the top of the front screen come off? Is this on clips? If so are they easily broken? This is all on a classic shape impreza.
Steve.

It's clipped, no need to pull the headlining or anything like that. The clips anchor to little pins welded onto the roof seam. You ease the moulding off off by starting from one end or the other and wobbling it gently from side to side while pulling up. Plan on breaking a couple of the clips in the process - you can buy them singly from a Subaru dealer and IIRC there are three different types (yellow, white and black).

That's also clipped in but the clips will normally have been bedded into the screen adhesive and so probably won't come out in one piece. You'll probably deform the strip to such an extent pulling it out you'll need a new one - which comes fitted with fresh clips. If you're not changing the windscreen as part of the job, expect a bit of messing about digging the remains of the old clips out and aligning/making space for the new ones.
