Default Fault code 13 (lamda sensor) (classic)

would a de-cat and cone filter with out re-map cause this code to log?
it does tend to miss-fire alot at high revs, but not 'A' misfire, the car really holds back, as if boost cut? then takes off again.
any ideas?
