whats diff between thrust position 3 blocks and thrust position 5 up to 1998 v4

im asking as im having major problems with pistons, wrong types etc

wiseco - 576m925
pre 98

wiseco - 588m925
98 + so

got info from here

so i fitted 98+ in a 98 and engine blew, when i shud have had fitted pre 98

i have both types in front of me n there is a massive machining diff and weight.

so wondering what diff on blocks
