Oil leak in subaru impreza 1996 2.0 turbo

Default Oil leak in subaru impreza 1996 2.0 turbo

hi does anyone know what the hole in red highlighted is in the picture ? i have oil splashes underneath the car everywhere. i cleaned it up, started the car and noticed air and oil splashes coming out the hole..does anyone know what is this hole and how can i fix this.

I think that connects to your turbo via a plastic pipe.

Might be the crankcase ventilation pipe then. Or the hole where the pipe would normally go.

thats the water/coolant hole which has the pipe missing which connects to the turbo via a short piece of hose.....why is it open it doesnt have your steel elbow,it should be there it isnt in the picture?

also definately not passenger side as in the pic or your engine is in backwards

the picture taken is the spare engine in the garage..buh its the same hole on the passenger side on my car. but somehow on my engine its on the passenger side and in the old block its on the drivers side..it seems like oil is splatterd out everywhere underneath the car from the hole, and you can feel pressure and abit of smoke from there once it gets warm. theres no oil leaking from the sump or oil filter.

Just checked my engine on the car, and there's nothing connected up on that part of the engine on the passenger side at all, so probably you're missing a plug of some kind, which would have a 1/4 or 3/8 inch square socket-face to screw it back in. If the driver-side hole on your unmounted engine is threaded and you can measure the thread, you could probably get a blanking plug to fit from just about any motor spares supplier, but definitely from a Subaru dealer.
