Its 4ltrs in the engine and .5ltr in the oil filter
At that mileage if the car has never been run on fully synth, waste of money

There is no problem running a fully synth oil but with the mileage the wear is already there that the fully synth would protect against, hence your best just running the car on the same semi synth oil as the fully synthetic isnt giving you the start up protection because its already worn so your just throwing money away.

Tony

PS, you dont need a high mileage oil on these cars, high mileage on a modern car is 150-200k now

Use an engine flush to get rid off all the old oil and any deposits.

I have always used a fully synth oil. The car now has 80k.

I've not heard of this stuff, is it really the best to use?

I've always been told Millers 10w60 or Silkolene Pro S

I need to order oil, so if this stuffs the best, point me in the right direction!

Going to Stu. Is that the Wagon you use it in or both?

He has 7 left and charged me £10 for delivery of 3 £55 for 6 litres is very cheap if you look at the price of it elsewhere.

Engine flush = not good in a flat 4 engine, just stick to regular oil changes

It's certainly not expensive mate. Not in the scheme of things !

15-50 300v Motul in the Wagon
10-40 300v Motul in the Spec D

Why the difference in which you use between the 2 cars?

I use the same in both of mine (newage wrx and classic wagon).

Just curious

Go for a decent oil, not Castrol GTX Mineral Oil.

Use a 5w-40 synthetic if that car is for road use.

5w-40, 5w-40 oil, 5w40, 5w/40

Cheers
Guy
