Hi guys i am trying to find a new set of Lifters/Tappets/Cam followers (seems there are many names) for my 96 N reg 2.0 non turbo. i have looked on google and browsed forums but i cant seem to find anyone who sells them..........

HELP THIS TAPPING IS DOING MY HEAD IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im in the northwest so if anyone knows anywhere near that'd be ideal

 

I am pretty sure the dealers will be the only place to get new ones, which I am sure will be a pretty some.

You could chance it and replace them with a known to be good second hand set, but its whether they will last or not.

Have the oil pressure checked aswell.

 

AFAIA the 2.0 N/A is a single overhead cam engine and has screw adjusters to set the valve clearances.
What is it you are after..........
Valve mechanism ? Illustration #2, Subaru IMPREZA ? Subaru parts catalog

 

Oil pressure was the first thing checked and is fine, its just the lifters!!! NIGHTMARE

Don the illustration is not for my engine as my lifters are hydraulic not screw adjusted.

 

Hi m8 I have the ansaw to your problem, I have a set of mint heads off a none turbo complete, so plug and play and ya way, only done 37 thou £50 quid for the pair thats heads, lifters, valves, cams, rocker covers for a 1/4 of the price for new lifters.
