hi everyone after starting impreza ownership with a classic 1.6 wagon and then moving onto a classic 2.0 sport i have finally landed myself a turbo with a broken gearbox its a classic uk turbo 2000 1996 cutting a long story short i am pretty handy with a spanner and i fitted a 98 wrx gearbox myself but the senor for the speedo is different to my orginal unit that came out of the car so the plug it plug it into the loom is different.

The car is now back on the road but obviously the speedo does not work it there a kit of something a can buy to connet the two different plugs together and get this working i live in a area with lots of average speed cameras at the min and i am bricking it thinking i am gonna get a ticket thus have to get rid of my baby cos of the insurance please please help me

 

is ur original knackered? cant you just swap them over?

 

they are very different the gearbox that was in it had a sort of stick going into the sensor whilst this one has one coming out of the sensor in to the gearbox tried figure something out but it would be putting a square peg into a round hole not literatley of course i believe the plugs are different also my loom has a two pin plug the new sensor for this box has a three pin many thanks for the reply though. tone

 

in case anyone is worried i did also put in the matching diff to the box ive installed this one the only reason its on its third box is the first gear went in the orginal one and the 2rd some monkey sold me one with syncs knacked in 3rd and 4th gears are well bound to happen at some point. tone
