emissions
Hi everyone,
just got my hands on my new toy and have a question about putting it through its mot. it is a 03 sti uk and the exhaust system has been changed from standard, no cat , afterburner and gtt spec 2 headers.
How does it manage to pass the emissions test if the cat has been removed? It has a mot, which does not run out till January , but I like to be prepared.
Any advice would be appreciated. Or friendly MOT man!

The previous owner could've simply temporarily swapped a cat section back in just before the MOT etc... A common practice; both privately and also offered as a 'service' by specialists/tuners.

Thanks for the info, I do not have the original cat, I think the previous owner said he have the mot man some extra money to pass it.
Not sure if I can get away with that at my local garage. I am based in Lee, Se12 near Blackheath, so if anyone knows someone not to far from this area it would be good. If not I am prepared to travel.
cheers

Northants, yes.
If you're prepared to travel there then you'll be in the safe hands of none other than the proprietor Paul Blamire - no worries there. ZEN'll be able temporarily fit their catted exhaust from your downpipe back (it's fitted with a centre cat). It costs about £50 in labour to swap it in and out... But at least the car should get through legally.
If you can't find a bent MOTer and have no other local options, then ZEN are an alternative option.
Also, should it not get through for any reason, then Paul will give you nothing but good advice/parts, etc. to help get it through...
