Default REMAP 2

Been told that putting a normal cat pipe on the car to pass the MOT could cause problems with the remap. Can anyone explain what these problems may be as the car seems to be running fine.

Cheers.

It will affect the map but if anything it will slow the car down due to restrictions, I doubt your gonna do any damage driving to an MOT station and if you are drive off boost and it will be ok.

You never said that you were only putting the CAT to pass the MOT, in that case it's fine. Just don't go boosting your way to the MOT.

What car and what ecu?

if just for mot then no issue just stay off boost, but ensure the garage don't take it for a joy ride.

the boost may drop a little and the spool up be more lazy but no point risking it as the more restrictive exhaust will effect ignition the engine will take etc

Default REMAP 3

I was just going to run it without putting the decat downpipe on.

The garage I bought the car from swapped the the pipe for a standard one to pass the MOT. They sold the decat downpipe. I would have to purchase a new one to set the car back to the way it was remapped by JGM as when it was mapped it had a decat downpipe on it.

However I would just keep the car the way it is now, obviously running less bhp if i thought it would be ok and would not damage the engine while hoofing it around.

However if the engine will sustain damage i will have to purchase a new decat downpipe to replace the legal one thats on.
