hi there,i thought i would start a new thread as my old one is going round in circles. my wrx was missing at 13psi on boost(not over boost) so fitted a boost controller and the car ran fine at 7psi so wound up boost bit by bit till i got the missing again, this happens any more than 10psi. everything is new, coil packs ngk pfr6bs at 0.64mm any ideas guys??

coil packs are brand new as are plugs but i gapped the plugs using a halfords sparkplug gapper which seems to be different gauges of wire to set the gap, closest size i could find was 0.64mm but dont know how accurate these things are,i had to reduce the gap from factory setting a fair bit according to the gapper? maybe its just cheap crap haha, could it be as simple as this?

plugs are usaly set to correct gap .7 or there abouts, i just visualy check just incase they have been dropped or knocked and just bung em in. aint had no problem in 15 years, or so i think

i notice you have a couple of fuel related mods, have you checked your fuel pressure under boost, the wiring of the walbro as well. Fuel starvation may show itself at a specific point following a gradual acceleration process or at a lower boost level under but under high fuel demand situations like WOT.

Is it possible that any of the boost pipes are sucking closed with the force? I used to have a cavalier turbo and being 12yrs old the pipes were warn. As soon as I hit boost the car would feel like a misfire and Id slow down in a panic and the problem would be gone. (it would be as there is less pressure closing a pipe)
Just a thought.

i removed the stainless steel headers today to find they were leaking from one of the heads a small amount, and where it joins to the up pipe wich was a bad leak, and they had small leaks on the welds
so this couldnt be helping.i couldnt get the old lambda out today, going to need a bit heat on it so have not driven it yet.the headers were just a poor fit and poor quality.will get the new lambda on the original headers tomorrow when i get the knackered one off and report back.thanks bryan

sound good to me bryan, i removed my stanless headers and went back to ported oem ones because of the ticking noise that they made (poor fit), did you get you plugs gapped to the correct size in the end

got another set of feeler gauges today but the closest size was .7mm so i reset them to that so that's done too,but as i say, haven't run it yet due to the mangled old lambda in the standard headers,so will get on it tomorrow night and hopefully that will be it
