Default heaters don't blow hot

I'm having a problem with my heaters, all the speeds work, it just that it doesn't blow hot air when set to hot. I wouldn't say the air was cold, more cool.

Any ideas what could be wrong? Ive had a look through the search but can't find anything, my car is a 1995 WRX,

Any help/info would be great,

Cheers
Ross

Oh, one of 2 things spring to mind, heater matrix (complete barsteward) or airlock in the cooling system. Money is on the heater matrix though

Possible that your control unit could be naffed. Turn the hot/cold **** whilst poking your head in the passenger footwell and looking at the bottom of the matrix to see if the servo operates the flappy thing on the bottom.

If your matrix was buggered then I'd expect to see mist on the windscreen and a damp/wet passenger footwell (like I had).

Maybe an airlock, have you had any pipes off recently?

You cjecked that there is enough coolant in the res? Also look in the filler pipe for signs of waxing....if it's there, headgasket has gone
