Question Change to turbo front entry - PS res relocation kit??

Hi

My MY95 JDM wagon used to have a 90 degree entry TD04 turbo, but now has a TD05/06 20G turbo which is front entry. I had to bodge some samco and ally pipes to get it to work with MAF etc. but got 380 bhp / 365 lbft on the rollers.

What I need to know is how to fit front entry inlet to turbo pipe - samco etc - I know I need to raise manifold ( Carl Davey insulating 20 mm spacers ) but how do I move the power steering reservoir and what ever else is in the way?

Are there any kits or brackets out there?

Thanks

One option is to loose the Air Con, then remount the PS Reservoir in its place...

From memory I think you just run an extension pipe from where the reservoir fits into the pump to wherever you remount the revervoir.

Not sure if there is a ready made kit, but the fabrication involved is not too difficult if your that way inclined!!

Hmmm, I can bolt things together but not fabricating... was looking for a kit.

Also I like my air con, even though the car is used at scoobyshootout ( annually ish! )

I believe a later model bracket for PAS reservoir gives clearance.

Next Question - which model year would be good for turbo inlet hose when manifold lifted and reservoir moved? Samco, Venair, Viperformance etc. Perrin?

Only need 1 branch for dump valve recirc as others are rerouted.

Or would simple 63 mm id silicone hose and 90 degree bend at front of manifold do the trick??

Thanks again

Just be carefull replacing the factory inlet pipe for a silicone one, as this can increase compressor surge on part throttle...

It has done on our track car!

i had this conversation before.
i was told that you just change the power stearing pump to the newer smaller type. & just raise the inlet a little higher. then its just a case of silicon hose to run under the inlet

never did it, but got the power stearing pump anyway.
the person who adviced me was kev at scooby clinic
kev him self seems to know what hes onabout too

contact them mate
see what they say

Cheers guys, had a couple of options - 20mm manifold spacers and relocate PS pump etc. or put a ( smaller ) pipe - alloy ? - from turo front entry under manifold and join to MAF/ air filter.

Need to think and talk to more people!
