Default hks eids and vta dumpvalve

As topic says imy classic 93 wrx came with both of these fitted. From what i can work out the eids connects to the maf via the ecu wiring and gives the right reading to the ecu when venting to stabilize air/fuel mixtures to stop bore washing etc.

The apexi twin bov on the car is not really that load and i was just wondering should i go to the oem dump valve which i picked up on here off another member?

If so do i need to remove the eids unit?

Also can i go dump valve less? I have a td05 wrx and i know people do it.

Cheers all i look forward to your replies

Yeah, either go back to the OEM DV... or you can indeed run the Mitsy TD-series turbos without one.

HKS USA EIDS

It was on the car when i got it and probably there when it was imported in 2003 along with the apexi intake and apexi bov. The intake has been swapped to an original air box and resonator already.

Oh I see.

Yeah, try running DV-less without that box of tricks - as you shouldn't need its 'help'.

When you remove the DV do a ECU reset, so as to clear any learned 'bad fuelling', etc.

My ecu will be reset as a definately. It needs to come out to remove the box of tricks so an hour or so off the car will reset it (not forgetting to disconnect battery ist) . Lets hope my maf willl like not having the box of tricks there. If not im sure someone on heres got a green label maf at a reasonable price Always some for sale in for sale section.

..... Now all im waiting for is getting my car back after a new clutch and 3rd 4th gear syncro fix.

Cluth fixed and back to standrad dump valve. My verdict on going from a vta to standard is better running when cold ,no noise, and no power increase or loss so its really all about personal preference.

If anyone is interested in buying my apexi twin chamber vta valve with fittings for classic, its going cheap say 35 quid plus delivery/collection, probably could do with a strip down and regrease as its probably been on the car for about 5 years or so ?
