This may be irrelevant here but FYI - my 96 WRX import version 2 has a 3 pin plug - I know some UK models had 2 pin plugs. Check how many pins your plug will take & how many the alt being sold has got.

Don't quote me as it's just a guess but it may have something to do with models that have abs or aircon & those that don't.

mmmm......I think the best thing to do is check the connections on mine and go scrapy and check them there, and go for it i suppose if they match up. Im desperate! sure most scoobys have air con and abs dont they? or just the imports?

The reason I know is I got a load of spare parts off my mate's '95 model when his bottom end went (think it was a UK model). I remember that he did not have ac/abs & noticed that his alternator has a 2 pin plug & my '96 import has a 3 pin plug (which does have ac/abs).
If you need a 2 pin plug alternator give us a shout as I don't want much for it (as it obviously won't fit my Scoob anyway!).
