i have only read the first 7 words and i can tell you hand on heart, that car is NOT a mcrae, the series mcrae car was only ever made was for a uk market, for some reason when people see the mcrae embroidered seats thinks "oh its a mcrae" and sell it as that and bump the price up.

no its not a mcrae, mcraes are uk editions only, and 200 were made. mines, before i did a mcrash on it was No 174 lol. it'll be a 555 v limited, it gets confused with mcrae editions because its got a sticked signature in the seat. this is a series mcrae

Tidgy is correct.

'Series McRae' is a totally different variant to the '555'.

As said, McRae is a UK marketed/supplied special edition based on a UKDM Turbo 2000 AWD... The 555, on the other hand, is a spl. edn. based on a JDM marketed/supplied v.2 STi.

Also, UKDM Classics have the speedo on the right/tach on the left - hence the case on the UK McRae in the above pic. And I think the UK speedos read to '160' (and not the '180' of the JDMs.)

looks like you have gained a lot more knowledge about your car,As said before the series Mcrae is a uk car Special Edition
Produced after winning both the manufacturers and drivers World Rally Championship titles in 1995, Subaru UK released this limited edition model and named it the Series McRae. Revisions over the standard model included Recaro sports front seats with open head rests and Series McRae motifs as seen on previous post by Tidgy, interior trimmed in Le Mans/Avus material, Sunroof, special Series McRae decals, 8-spoke gold alloy wheels, and a special blue mica paint. Only 200 Series McRae's were produced by prodrive in Banbury

Which leaves me to think you have a 555 please check your appiled model code or post some pictures and all will be cleared up mate

It wont be a 555 sti if it has a limited number plaque as the 555 sti never had one. ( i have one there were 500 saloons built but they never numbered them )

It will be a v limited or something similar.
