Default cambelt price?

The cambelt on my car (sti v3) is due pretty soon, how much should it cost me to get it changed at my local garage?

Tell us where your local garage is and we'll phone them and ask.

If you're reasonably competent with spanners and can follow simple instructions you could always do it yourself.

Will you be getting this done as part of a service or as a standalone job? If the latter, figure on about two hours labour. Parts prices are a lottery given that we have no way of knowing whether or not they'll use Subaru genuine parts, whether the tensioner or any of the pulleys need replacing, how much of a loading the garage will put on the parts prices etc.

As per post #2, if you want to know how much a specific garage would charge for a specific job, your best bet would appear to be to ask them rather than us.

Ask your dealer the only price we can give is the one for the part, and dealers charge different hourly rates so its a bit of a guess really.

Scheize, do you have your food spoon-fed to you too? I know this is a support forum, but the least you should be able to do is either search the web or phone a main dealer and ask them what the current prices on the belt and tensioner/pulleys are. You could find out a lot quicker that way than asking us and waiting for an answer.

If you want a rough idea of non-official prices, go somewhere like Import Car Parts - Japanese car parts for Subaru, Nissan, Honda, Toyota, Lexus, Mitsubishi and more and start from there.

the belts are about £70 and £100+ for genuine ones or performance ones etc

budget 3 hrs labour so say £150

so £150 + £70 plus vat say £280ish should be a price bracket to be aiming for or lower

I've seen kits with the pulleys and cogs for about 300 - 400 quid at what mileage do you have to replace all the cogs
