Question Brake making a creaking noise when pressed

I travelled 135 miles last night and when i was parking the car afterwards I noticed that the front drivers side brake made a creaking noise, similar to an old metal cable being stretched, when I pressed the peddle.
I have a 03 STI with the big brembo brakes, which seem to be working fine other than the noise.
Has anyone else come across this or know if it's something i should get checked out?

When you turn the car off and press the brake pedal are they still making a creaking noise?

I had somthing along the same lines if not the same a couple of months ago on my brembos and found out that 2 of the pistons were sticking, took calipers off and put in a new seal kit. All is good now

Hope this helps

Forgot to mention that the pads still have a lot of life left on them.

I'll try and remove the shims when I get chance. I remember the guy saying the shims didn't need to be fitted but he'll fit them anyway when I got the pads changed last year. Hopefully that'll sort it.

next time u have a spirited drive when you pull up put the back of ur hand on the centre of the wheel(where the nuts go) and see if they are all the same temp, if you have a caliper or a pot sticking it will show up as being hotter then the opposite wheel,
not perfect but gives you a idea.
