assuming your classic is the same year or earlier then yes it will fit, if the car is a v1/2 impreza then you will have to change the complete inlet manifold, but all these parts are ok to be swapped over.

I think there was something to do with the loom - the pins on the ECU are in a different order for some sensors so need swapping over?

Not sure what years this applies to, but likely pre 96 to post 98 changes may be affected. ??? ( phase 1 to phase 2 engines?? )

Try a few of the tuners who should know?

having a n reg impreza, all you need to do is swap the inlet manifold over and turbo from your old engine then job done, its a always a risk buying a performance engine as you can never guarantee the condition, but a lot of people do and have done including myself and have had no problems.

hi no there is nothing like that, only recently trader scores were brought in so people could comment on how well a sale/purchase went as for buying a engine DONT buy one from ebay off smr engines or similar as all you will get used engine that has been jet washed and sprayed silver, these sellers will say they done x,y,z but when it comes to the crunch they haven't done any of it, and the warranty they offer is worthless.
