When you say on inlet side of intercooler pipes, do you mean before the turbo?

I think it should be on the pipework after the turbo, mine was on the return pipe from FMIC to throttle body and rejoined ( to recirc air ) into the inlet pipe to turbo.

Std DV is as close to the throttle body as possible, maybe for a reason ?

Mine is plumbed about four inches upstream.

My dump valve packed up soon after fitting a FMIC. Was told it was because the don't like being fitted upside down. Its in the return pipe just before the last big radius turn into the throttle body. I plugged the holes and run with no dump valve at all now. I'm going to fit a re-circ back in when I measure up and buy some pipework. At the moment just enjoying the turbo stall noise.
