Default ALARM HELP PLEASE !!

Hi all im having all sorts of problems with my03 wrx it has the m30 alarm on and as my key packed up i have had to use the key pad to arm and dissarm to get car started. As my wife has to use the car for work i explained about the key pad but women bein women she put alarm into shutdown mode and now has completly shutdown and wont arm or disarm using key or key pad i have spoke to subaru and they say it will prob need reprograming and also i will need a new key at a cost of about £200-£250
Now do i pay this or is it a simple straight forward job if i have the m30 ripped out and a new VIPER460 cat1 fitted at the cost of £200 inc 2 fobs i believe it is a factory fit sigma is it going to be a nightmare for a alarm bloke to get out any help would be appreciated

Any decent auto electrician should be able to remove the old one and fit a new one,i had my old sigma M30 ripped out of mine and a new S30 fitted in under 3 hours.n Hang fire for the momment as it may just want reprograming and that should allow the existing keys to work ,will speak to my sigma dealer tommorrow for confirmation.

i have a friend who used to work for sigma he got a bit carried away earlier and started rippin the dash out and removed the plugs for the alarm ecu so have no choice now but to have a new alarm fitted he never managed to find where they had cut into the loom to overide immobiliser and now has left me with half my dash out and no plugs on alarm loom am i right in thinkin that subaru put a piece into the loom so the m30 can be put straight in he did leave all the wires labelled up and said a decent alarm bloke could whip it out in no time and install a new one i have booked for secure a car to come and fit a new cat one has anybody had any dealings with these guys????

there was no need to rip the alarm out or start cutting wires, a simple email to sigma sam on SIDC would put you straight.
