Default Pain in the ****?

did a ECU reset to day in an attempt to clear the check engine light all was fine the light flashed the all clear but it was still in safe mode i.e running .5 bar boost and pissing me off! then the check light came on again so i did the code read thing with the plugs under the dash and it gave me fault code 22 which is the knock sensor if im not mistaken. Ive done a search for the knock sensor but cant find it, my car is a 2000 turbo 2000 (classic) when i change the sensor how do i get it out of safe mode? please help me as im getting propper p155ed off with the car and ive only owned it 3 weeks.

The knock sensor is sorta under the inlet manifold and sorta towards the left side of centre of the engine , it can be changed without removing the manifold.
after changing it do a ecu reset as per this link
