Default tdo4 vs tdo5

I currently have a tdo4 turbo on my uk 2000 but have been offered a tdo5 my question is this, is there much difference between the two turbos? and if i were to put the tdo5 on my car will it run fine without a remap or would there be no point in fitting it?

im assuming is td05-16g. td05 will be good for around 340bhp with supporting mods.

you will definitly need a remap as td05 is bigger turbo.

So will i not see any noticeable gains just by putting the turbo on the car as opposed to running my tdo4?

You may notice a broken engine if you're unlucky. What you are most unlikely to get is a car that runs right, or, significantly better than with the standard turbo.

Provided you're sure you have an MY98 (coilpack in the centre of the inlet manifold), that's correct, you will need an aftermarket ECU. Worth double-checking the model year if you're not sure (or are basing your current belief on something you read on Scoobynet), as the year codes often quoted round here are wrong for UK cars.
