I was under the WRX today fitting some uprated ARB bushes and noticed some oil which looked as if was leaking from the underneath of the oil pump?

In this pic it would be the bottom pokey out bit, so on the car was the drivers side, im assuming its a preasure release valve?
the other side didnt have oil on it?
Do we think its a matter of removal and replacing rubber/copper seal?
Thanks
Rob

The "bottom pokey out bits", to use the technical vernacular, aren't the PRV (that's further up, you can't see it properly in this pic, the thing running across the front of the pump at an angle), they're just blanking plugs.
You might simply find that tightening the offender will sort the problem out, although you also need to check that the plug really is the source of the leak (and that it isn't dripping down from further up).
If push comes to shove, it should simply be a case of removing (14mm hex), catching the the small puddle of oil that will drop out, cleaning both the threads, applying some ThreeBond to the lower threads of the plug, and refitting.
I'd also, as insurance, unplug the crank sensor, and ideally remove the spark plugs, and turn the thing over on the starter until the oil pressure light goes out (plus a few more seconds to be sure).
