hi ppl i put a 3 inch decat system on my myoo uk turbo and im having s£*t loads of over boost . Iknow it is due to needing a remap . My question is , if i put a universal cat in to the front pipe would this cure the over boost for now till i get it finshed and mapped .

Is your MY00 UK Turbo a standard car or a PPP one? Either way, but much more easily if standard, you should be able to cure your overboost simply by drilling the orifice in the restrictor pill a little bigger.
Much less hassle (and much less cost) than your plan. BTW, if you're suggesting what I think you're suggesting, you'd be far better off refitting the standard downpipe than cutting your new one up in a vain attempt to fit a "universal" cat.

i tried that one but its about 6 inch shorter than the new system as i had to fit all the standerd one on for the mot . as far as i can tell its a standard model . i dont know where the ecu is to check if its a prodrive one and i got no paper work with it

As above, enlarge the restrictor orifice and you will cure this without any further mucking about, for the cost of a set of mini-drills and without the need to even jack the car up. Plenty written on it so Search is your friend.
The ECU is under the kickplate in the front passenger footwell. Easy to get at.

thanks splitpin going to pop down the local scoob breackers and get another pill to drill out . i had a look on here and seems that 1.2mm or 1.5 mm is worth trying . im going to check out the ecu to see what one it is . im hoping it will be the prodrive one . . . . kev

I'm going on very dimming memory here but from what I recall the "standard" restrictor is 1.2mm. If so, don't go straight for 1.5 as it may well be too much and you'll find you've lost spool and peak boost.
Buy a pack of mini-drills (if you don't have some already) and open it out 0.05mm bigger than it is right now, then try it. If it's still overshooting/overboosting, go another 0.05 and repeat until you get it right.
Have it in my head that the PPP restrictor is 0.8, and may also be that you've bought a car on which the previous owner has experimented with different sizes to get more boost, so the first thing you need to do is use the drills as feeler gauges to work out what size it is at the moment, then work upwards.
