removing inlet manifold for paint
The inlet manifold on my 98 sti is getting pretty flakey and I'm wanting to get it repainted.
How easy is it to remove the inlet manifold and what might be needed (any gaskets etc that might need replacing) I've been searching for a guide on here with no luck!
I am also wanting to paint it the same as the original red, can anyone recommend a good crinkle finish red paint?
Thanks

Hi mate I'm thinking about doing mine aswell, from what I can make out it should be a pretty straight foward job just fiddly
VHT wrinkle paint from Frost (http://www.frost.co.uk/item_Detail.a...%20%28310ml%29) this is what most people used but they've changed the formula now & it comes out more orange, I might do mine with there wrinkle black
I'd replace the inlet gaskets, throttle body & idle control valve gasket there cheap enough from importcarparts.com
I've got a 94 wrx here's a rough guide it should be similar, hope this helps
-remove intercooler
-release fuel pressure & remove fuel hoses (catch fuel still left in the lines)
-unplug coil packs/pack
-remove break booster hose
-drain coolant
-remove header tank & turbo coolant hose
-unplug injectors & various other sensors
-undo power steering bracket
-remove engine to idle control valve coolant hose
-remove inlet bolts
if ive missed anything please add
