Default difference between wrx and sti heads??

I only recently found out that they are different (newbie stuff coming through again!!) and was wondering what the difference was, and at what sort of power do the sti heads become a necessity etc.

My car is an 05wrx, currently around 330bhp

thanks
Iain

STI heads on New-Age cars run AVCS, variable cam timing, helps spool a larger turbo up more efficiently, the "Brand New" hatch has double AVCS on inlet and exhaust.... needs some electronics and an oil supply, plus an ecu to control it all. I would imagine you'll get to 400+ bhp without noticing it's missing.

IMHO
