Default Multi Maps on 2006 STi - Solaris

Is Solaris the only Multi-map ECU that can be used?
I am keen to fit 2-3 maps to my car and would like recommendations - sorry if there is an archive on this, please point me to it.
Thanks Peter

If your looking to put multiple maps on the car surly a boost controller would be just as effective ?? OK I appreciate your not really putting different maps on the car, but you can at least have a low boost setting and then a high boost setting - most controllers will allow you to do 3 maps these days as well.

Much dheaper to buy than an ECU and a doodle to fit for someone that knows what they are doing.

Hi Alexandre,
I want to put 2 or 3 maps on to achieve what the new hatch does.
I have a friend with a 22B with a Solaris fitted and in 'granny' mode on the motorway he gets 28mpg.
That's what I want - 32mpg for commuting and full map for playing. I don't think a boost controller will do that for me, will it?

You will get the same desired effect yes.

All that needs to be done is for the lower setting to be set with minimal boost so effectivly your just using the engine and not much turbo, and then set the upper setting for full boost.

You don't need to put entire maps on an ECU to achive the sort of results your looking for.

But if I lower the boost will that tell the ECU to not pump in so much fuel? I thought I needed two maps (or 3: Youngman, Oldman and Granny) so that for each of them the map sets the dangerous stuff like boost, timing etc to safe levels and gives it the proportional amount of fuel? I would like Youngman = Full Boost, Oldman = say 0.3 Bar and a mild power level and Granny no boost above 3000 and to get about 32-35 mpg. The new Impersonator can do it, and change on the fly. Have a look at Green Giant - Welcome to the Valley for his bit on the Solaris.

You will get wastegate pressure and two other boost settings with most boost controllers, however I wouldnt just stick in a controller and crank up the boost. Thats just asking for trouble!

On a 2006 STi you can have two boost settings mapped safely through EcuTek or OpenSource.

But how do you get the two? How does it switch?

The OEM STi ECU can handle twin boost maps.
It is switchable by the rear window demister when on WOT. Ask for it at the time of mapping. Get 1 setting for wastegate pressure (fuel economy) and the other for 1.5bar!

Fit a boost gauge so you know what MAP your using.

Thanks very much !!! I will write to Simon

I dunno about you moving to Oz though... WA maybe, but I believe that it is worse to own a Scooby there than here. UK is gr8 but sad to say 90% of the roads are terrible and the good ones are covered by the fuzz in wales. Still, there's the Isle of Man.
Know why the grass is greener on the other side? 'cos there's so much **** over there...

But good luck - I have a friend with a Scooby in Taiwan, now that's a place your first reaction is "Why?" like keeping a racehore in yer back yard. But he says its fantastic - its all fast'nfurious, lots of bling meets and the fuzz lets them close off sections of road and do street races.

Boost map switching will not affect your 'cruise' mpg.

Easy to do that with a simple map change.

Having said that Solaris is pretty cool - I get 30mpg on mine even on the 2.5 bar race map if I am cruising up the motorway ....

Or else who can I go to?
