Dont think there was a recall just if it let go then it would be a warranty claim.Happened to me on 08 sti twice.

I have a MY06 STi (from new) and it has not been recalled.

Believe MY08 STi has a problem with mapping.

I was told by the (MAIN) Dealer I bought my Car from it needed a recall done to replace the pistons due to them possibly cracking causing increased oil consumption which I thought OK seems fair enough. However I can't find any further reference to this recall anywhere else, when the V5 came I found out that the car was previously owned by a driving school.

Now I was not informed of this by the dealer in fact I was told it was owned by a business man and his partner who traded in 2 exactly the same cars, don't get me wrong there absolutely nothing wrong with the car in fact I am more than happy with it, It has only done 15'000mls and is 3 years old, I would just like to know if they were Very Hard driving miles round a Track or a Sunday best Motor.

Were the pistons replaced due to its Previous owners Track exploits and did the dealer not want to tell me it had a hard life for a few Years.

LOL john no it wasn't, I have spoken to another dealer and there is an "ISSUE" with no 1 Piston on 06 STI's cracking not an actual recall but was probably done just in-case.
