Should be a Ej207 type block this is a thick walled semi closed block. You could run this as a 2.1 upgrade.

But you will find most tuners will suggest a Closed Deck Block is used which can be had from the tuner you choose to use.

Alternatively speak to Engine Tuner who have build many 2.1's for various Scoobynetters.

Good Luck

Although a CDB would be preferable as a base, I understand even the 'weakest' OBD is still good for around 500bhp, iirc! So a SCDB should be able to handle even more power, reliably,

Depends on your goal/future goals(?)...

I am thinking of no more than 500bhp eventually ,just want to make sure the engine can handle it with relative ease .
Just trying to make something bullet proof.

I'm sure a SCDB - if that's what your MY has - will be more than up to the task.

As Baly says, API Dave will be able to tell you all you'll need to know re anything Subaru, and point you in the right direction. PM/email him...

SCDB will be perfectly adequate for the level of performance you want.
Our 2.1 has proven very popular, have a chat with some of our happy customers and give us a call, or better still pop down and sample the Devon air.

I would speak to Engine tuner and API for cost, both guys have posted on the thread mate.

Wayner very reputable guys indeed API and Enginetuner. Speak to them directly and see who you fancy going with. But you will get a solid build for your money and not something that you will end up rebuilding again because somebody didn't build it properly. Do it once and do it properly is what i say.

Good Luck

Yeah, I believe Enginetuner do indeed offer "drive in, drive out" menu optons.

Also, API will be able to offer suitable solutions, too.

Don't forget Zen too, obviously. And possibly GGR, as well.
