Question Steering wheel rocks at low speed when turning

Hi,

I've just purchased a Bugeye Wagon WRX and have noticed that when I corner at lowish speed <30mph (roundabouts and the like) that the steering wheels rocks a little, going light and heavy. It's almost rythmic

Does this mean that the power steering pump is on its way out?

My previous Impreza was a classic with prodrive suspension so I can't really compare them, but I don't remember the same effect with that car.

TIA,

Ian

Could be the pump, but prob more likely to be a slightly ovalised wheel.

Easy enough to diagnose/eliminate if you have a trolley jack or axle stands.

Ok, do I just jack up the front and spin the wheels by hand?

Exactly, both wheels up, spin one and the other will go round in the opposite direction. Make sure you look at the inside of the rims as well as the outside.
