Scotland. Yep, Andy Forest would be who. Was more interested in the what kind of remap was required for what reason, and what cost i.e. new turbo - 120 quid.......turbo, fuel pump, injectors, fmic, bov 500 quid........etc.

Usually a set price for a complete remap, depending on what ECU you have or want. Obviously price will go up if you want mods fitted by the tuner.
Tweaks to the map later on down the line generally cost less.

have you had a remap? how much was it? what did you get the remap for? You just answered none of those questions mate. Generally.

Use the search function. Plenty of threads have covered the benefits of different remaps, ecus, mods and mappers.

what year is the car?

the first time the car is mapped should make no difference whether the car is standard or running a bigger engine, bigger turbo, bigger injectors etc.. it is then different prices for a tweak from then on, if for example you upgraded the exhaust compared to changing turbo, injectors and exhaust etc..

subaru syms trecs are these piggy backs any good, I have changed the engine. Put bigger turbo on, 440 injectors, hks air filter, hks 3.5 from turbo, the pipe before the turbo aswel, and a front mount intercooler, but its only boosting about 0.6 bar ? If I put a piggy back ecu on that is set at 1.1 bar will it raise the boost?

JGM Mapped mine and did a great job, i have done a few track days and never had an issue, it also runs very smooth, recomend him highly as i would also recomend duncan there both top notch at what they do , and the thing is its not all about big bhp numbers i would rather lose a few bhp and know i have had it mapped to run safe and thats what both of them will do, cheers steve.

My mate used Andrew Carr (OS) but I Cant recommend him to anyone, he doesnt show his face when there are problems once he has taken your cash, try after try but nothing, just ignores Emails/texts now,
He may be cheap but you get what you pay for (poor service and iffy map).

Yes, Ive had mine remaped by simon (jolly green monster). I have an Apexi power FC ecu. All the mods were fitted prior to mapping:

Engine rebuild by API

Running 1.3 Bar boost
Apexi power fc & commander
Apexi induction kit
Apexi AX53B70 Turbo
Apexi boost control
TRUST FMIC
Equal length headers
3" decat system
High pressure fuel pump
Sard fuel regulator
Injectors

Remap was £250 all in. As said, tweaks to the map later on generally cost less. When simon has been in the area I've asked him just to check some things on it and passed a bit of cash his way for the service, but if I was to drop a 2.5 lump in and a monster turbo then obviously I'd have to pay for another map!

fell de-cat exhaust
de-cat up pipe
pfr7bs spark plugs
walbro fuel pump
k&n filter
prodrive intercooler y pipe

I'm in West Yorkshire and had some work done by AET Engineering in Normanton (Andy Nicholls).

2.5 WRX (Hawkeye), had a Panel Filter. 3" Millek decat system, uprated fuel pump, shocks and some injection tweaks. Was running at 230bhp/236lb ft and is now 300/355. It's a totally different car now. Was ecutek'd on Shell V Power and only runs on it now.

Next mods for me are: hyperflow TMIC, VF43 turbo (from STI) and clutch.
Brakes are getting done this weekend (including hoses).

I wouldn't recommend a piggyback ecu on a subaru.. pigguy back ecus work for cars that there is no alternative.. but when you can either remap the standard ecu or replace with an aftermarket usually for less or equal to a piggy back it is a no brainer.

Has the car been set up for all those changes?

I know all the feedback u get seemed good so you think your safe,
Shame really, he stopped answering emails and texts once he found out the car had been to another garage looking for a mechanical fault that didnt exist, they say its defo the map thats causing the surging as you can put the old ECU in and it stops, but hey ho.

I had a simtek installed and mapped by JGM , then fitted an 18g , 555cc injectors and tubular manifold , remapped by JGM. Cant recommend him enough , top bloke and will always map my car. And I travelled to Scoobyworld from Glasgow to have it done.

Simon is very helpfull , great for advice(no matter how stupid you think your question might be) and even tightened the clamps(many off) that I didnt the night before when building the car back up.

Andrew Carr has done alot of work for us and has mapped my own car 3-4 times all with excellent results....

The thought of him not sorting out any problems does not sound right....i would try get in touch again.
