Default car not running after cambelt

had to remove the cam belt to repair the woodruff key because some idiot who did the cambelt did not tighten the crank bolt up

have replaced the woodruff key and put the cam belt back on but not any of the aux belts, started the car and it does not want to run it backfires and it sounds like it wants to go but when you put your foot down on the pedal it sort of dies and i can hear lots of electrical clicking ,because ive had the bonnet up in the rain would this be the problem or not

i have done that and my friend was there and he says that they were right aswell,
does not sound like any parts are hitting,it does sound like the throtle sensor is shorting and the boost solenoid is clicking away

Ok it could be that the leads are damp.....but it is possible that the crank pulley is timed incorrectly......When you lined all the timing marks up remember that the crank should be timed using the straight mark on the crank pulley and not the arrow.....Infact the arrow on the crank pulley should be at the 3 o clock position if your timing marks are done properly.

ALso ensure that the crank sensor is plugged in properly and function.

i wish i bloody marked the belt with tipex, also when you tighten the belt i found the cams move, needs 2 people really.
had a go at it again last night with a friend but the weather does not help things nor does the lack of light,
o to have a massive garage
i think im one tooth out on the crank sprocket, stupid question next that will make all of cams out then wont it

how old is the belt? would be worth considering a new one for markings and not ideal to remove and refit.. unless very young belt

belt not that old had it done in wincanton,
ok lined the crank spocket up and the top lh rh were spot on but bottom were one tooth out each,
have now put it back on and the caar still does not run right
did a ecu fault code read and have
45 pressure sensor
31 throtle postion sensor
11 crank position sensor

the car was driving fine until the crank pulley came loose, then all that happened was the power steering when and the battery light came on,still managed to drive home about 2 miles
took pully and belt off and now this, could it be were the weather has got to them
or is it where ive knackered my engine buy putting belt on a few teeth out

not a happy chap

reset the ecu and see which reoccur.

is only a tooth out you won't do damage..

have you had anything else off the car whilst working on it?

i have only taken the radiator out, just removed the crank sensor give it a clean as it had some copper grease on it,and am now charging the battery
thanks for your help by the way
when i was messing with the belt the top cam span around of spring but i soon put it back
also the bottom did at another time but that would mean that the valves sat back in the closed position wouldnt it

Mate leave that car in somewhere that knows what they are doing as you are gonna end up wrecking the car by the sounds of it, no disrespect.

If your not well familiour with the cam belt, ALWAYS buy a new branded belt with timing marks to match up the pulleys.

right my mate has came and he says that i have timed it correctly and that it all sounds ok,
have just whipped plugs out and they are all black but 2 really dirty,so ill try some new plugs,
teusday night my friend spotted some arking on one of the coil leads as it was touching the clamp that holds the wire, does this mean that the sparkplug was not getting the power
