Default CAT test exempt ???

Hi All,

Has anyone ever come across or heard of an early classic being CAT test exempt ??
A fellow Impreza owner was sure he read somewhere that some of the early Imprezas did not need a CAT to pass an MOT.

Any help would be muchos appreciated !

Cheers

mines a 1993 and has no cat and gets tested as no cat becaues the mot station has no data on imports pre 1994 iirc the cat thing came in april 1993 anyway so any car with a cat pre april 1993 doesnt actually one as pre this date they where fitted volantarily so therefore can be removed

That sounds about right as years ago, I had an L reg 220 Turbo. That was fitted with a CAT but didn't need one so I De-CAT'd it......permanently !!!!
