Squeeky Brakes....
Apologise for this being in the wrong section, but I will get a faster response here....
I'm going on holiday tomorrow in my car, and just today my rear brake/brakes has just started squeeling like hell. Now I'm going to be driving for about 14 hours, so it's going to do my **** in!!
Is there anything obvious it could be? The pads and discs are only 6 months old (PF pads, OE discs). Earlier I went and jet washed them, and they stopped the noise for a few miles, but it's back again.
It's also snowing like hell now, but I guess in the morning I'm going to have to strip the brakes down and do something? If so what's best to do.....clean everything and copper slip them up? Any thing else I can try?
Thanks

had something very similar. ended up the top adjuster on the shoes was off and was squealing like mad. if you pulled the handbrake while moving very slowly it would stop doint it.

Oh right, I can give that a go!
Will be a total pain taking the discs off tomorrow, outside in this weather Would adjusting the shoes with the spinny thing with a screw driver solve it you think?

Just thinking about the brakes, if the pads are ok and its just started then I thought it could be the handbrake shoes maybe as they're in there too
If it squeaks without brakes being applied but goes away when they are applied then its probably a sticking caliper, which could be the guides or the piston(s) so yeah I think you're right with the copper ease treatment (used a lot of that on my old Fiat)
Hope you get it sorted tho mate, typical for these things to start going wrong when its raining or snowing
